Robert Knopwood was chaplain and magistrate at the first European settlement in Victoria, at Sullivan Bay, near Sorrento. Knopwood's diary of the period from Governor David Collins landing in 1803 until his departure for Van Diemen's Land in January 1804, is one of the few surviving accounts of the settlement.
